Saving infected teeth and eliminating pain
Root canal treatment, or endodontics, is recommended if the inside of a tooth, or the pulp, has become infected or has died. It is an intricate procedure that we are pleased to offer at Aviva Dentistry.
Often, the problem can be symptomless in the early stages and will only be highlighted by a dental X-ray during your dental check-up. However, as it worsens, you may begin to experience pain. If this happens, we recommend getting in touch to book an appointment as soon as possible.
During the treatment, local anaesthetic will be used to ensure you do not feel anything. The infected or dead pulp will be removed and the remaining area will then be cleaned, decontaminated and sealed. A filling or a dental crown will be placed on top to protect the tooth.
As always at Aviva Dentistry, your comfort will be our top priority. Although root canal treatment will involve a fairly lengthy appointment, you will not experience any pain as local anaesthetic will be used.
